Bingo the monkey and Jojo the elephant are friends. Every day they play in the jungle.
Jojo got a new, red ball. He said, “Bingo, let’s play catch. You stand here and I will be near the pond. When I throw, you catch. Then you throw and I catch.”
“Alright,” said Bingo.
Jojo went near the pond. Bingo parted his legs, bent his knees, and made a cup with his hands to catch the red ball.
Jojo took the ball in his trunk. He raised his trunk and threw the red ball. The ball went flying. It flew over the bushes. It flew over Bingo’s head. It flew over the small trees. It dashed into the tallest tree.
Then the red ball fell. Bounce! Bounce! Bounce! Roll! Roll! It stopped. Bingo looked at the ball. He looked at Jojo. Jojo was laughing. “You couldn’t catch my ball!”
Bingo picked up the red ball. He climbed up the tallest tree. Up! Up!Up!Up! He reached the top. Then he raised his hand and threw the red ball.
The red ball went flying. It flew over the trees. It flew over Jojo’s head. Then it fell. Down! Down! Down! Into the pond! It splashed to the bottom of the pond. Then it popped up. The red ball bobbed up and down!
Bingo was laughing.”You could not catch my ball too, Jojo,” he said.
Jojo looked at the red ball. He looked at his friend. He was upset!
“Go and get my ball, Bingo.”
“How can I?” asked Bingo, “It’s in the pond.”
Jojo was angry. “You threw it. Now you get it!”
Bingo was sorry that his friend was angry. “I am sorry, Jojo. Please don’t be angry. I will never throw your red ball in the pond again,” he said.
“Alright,” said Jojo, “ Let’s tell Mr. Froggy to help us.”
Mr. Froggy sat on the grass. He had found the red ball. He gave the ball to Jojo and Bingo.
“You are good friends. It is easy to say sorry to friends. I always help friends who say sorry,” said Mr Froggy.
“Thank you, Mr Froggy,” said Jojo and Bingo.
